July 16, Wuhu, Anhui. Karry New Energy under Chery Automobile and Aulton signed a strategic cooperation agreement together. Based on the agreement, the two parties will make full use to their respective advantages and jointly promote the promotion and application of new energy commercial vehicle battery swapping vehicle models and the continuous layout of city-level battery swapping service network.

In the presence of Zhou Dinghua, Deputy General Manager of Chery Commercial Vehicle and General Manager of R&D Center, and Li Yixiu, President of Aulton, Zhao Weihua, Executive Deputy General Manager of Chery New Energy, and Yang Ye, Senior Deputy President of Aulton, the strategic cooperation agreement was singed by representatives form both parties.

After the signing ceremony, Karry New Energy and Aulton held in-depth talks on the topics of Dolphin EV battery swapping technology development and Youyou EV battery swapping cooperation, etc. Based on the agreement reached between the two parties, Karry New Energy and Aulton will jointly develop electric vehicle battery swapping vehicle models and achieve launch and promotion with a total of 100,000 NEV battery swapping models within 5 years. The first batch of 2,000 cooperative vehicles will be landed in batches in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze Delta, Chengdu and Chongqing regions and other mainstream markets, and demonstration operation centers will be established in Hefei, Wuhu, Guiyang and other provinces.

Zhao Weihua stated that Karry New Energy is a subordinate enterprise of Chery Holding Group that undertakes the new energy commercial vehicle business of Chery Group, with the main products facing the new energy logistics vehicle market and the online car-hailing field, it provides customers with solutions of platform transportation integration, industrial ecological integration and service data platformization. The business covers vehicle sales, lease operation, finance, after-sales and big data platform services, and can form systematic solutions and integration of internal and external resources. Recently, Karry New Energy is carrying out battery bank and other ecological chain strategies to realize battery gradient utilization based on whole life cycle management, which coincides with the development strategy of Aulton.

Li Yixiu stated that Aulton is the pioneer and leader of the global battery swapping model, and has been focusing on the research and development of NEV battery swapping technology and commercial operation of the battery swapping network for 21 years, providing green energy services for the development of NEVs. Aulton has achieved sharing battery swapping within 20 seconds for multi-brand model vehicles, which covers 23 cities across China, with 338 battery swapping stations in operation, forming a city-level battery swapping service network, which is currently the largest commercial operation platform for battery swapping in China.

Ouyang Minggao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor of Tsinghua University in the commercial vehicle electrification of the three major paths has mentioned that commercial vehicles is most suitable for battery swapping. In the field of commercial vehicles, there is a larger battery capacity, higher battery costs, more fixed operating routes and other characteristics due to product attributes, making the use of battery swapping model energy replenishment advantage particularly obvious in the transformation of commercial vehicles electrification, specifically in the energy replenishment efficiency, vehicle purchase costs, land efficiency and many other aspects.

Under the tide of electrification, the battery swapping industry has entered a period of rapid development as policy, capital, and the market emphasis on the battery swapping model.
